Daniel Fried (Executive Producer of illusion)
previously produced the film O, a contemporary
adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello set in a
Charleston, South Carolina high school which starred
Josh Hartnett, Julia Stiles, Mekhi Phifer and Martin
Sheen. The film won the Golden Needle for Best Director
at the 2001 Seattle Film Festival and enjoyed box office
and home video success. Fried's other projects include
American Knight at Universal Pictures, Rumble
in the Jungle at Showtime and The Blight
with MGM-TV and producer Stan Lee (Spiderman,
X-Men).
Fried started in entertainment in the mailroom of United
Talent Agency. He then went to brother Rob Fried's Sony
Pictures-based production company Fried Films where
he worked on such films as So I Married an Axe-Murderer,
Rudy, Only You and the Academy Award-winning
live action short film Session Man. Fried then
became Director of Development at Savoy Pictures where
he worked on such films as The Stupids, A
Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Carlo Collodi's
The Adventures of Pinocchio and others.
Fried is a graduate of Cornell University and currently
resides with his family in New York where he is the
owner of esteemed photography studio H&H Photographers.
